The Nose (The Land Guardians), Undated
According to Ásmundur Sveinsson’s&nbsp;words in an interview book by Matthías Johannessen, this sculpture depicts a series of noses which face all directions.&nbsp;The Nose&nbsp;is also known as&nbsp;The Land Guardians. Here, Sveinsson experiments with cubist forms. The four land guardians are the protectors of Iceland: they are the bull, the eagle, the dragon and the rock-giant.
