Sheaths is based on a combination of poetic texts, drawings and watercolors of clothes by Anna Jóa.
The artist's thoughts about time and place intertwined in the making of the paintings and were arranged on paper as texts that in a broader sense deal with the creative process and the nature of the transformation of the environment and worlds.
The book also includes poems translated by Sarah Brownsberger and an epilogue by Jóhannes Dagsson in both Icelandic and English.
