The performance takes place in the Port in Hafnarhús, immediately following a conversation between Karin Sanderand the curators of the exhibition Karin Sander: 1957–2057.

In the performance People on Stone Plinths by Karin Sander, museum visitors are placed in the role of living sculptures. Each participant stands on a small concrete paving stone, striving at the same time to maintain their balance.

The Port at the Reykjavik Art Museum is transformed into a living exhibition space where the boundaries between sculpture and human presence become blurred. The work draws attention to presence, the body, and balance, while also reflecting on the role of the individual within a shared space.

Karin Sander is an internationally renowned German artist who has cultivated connections to Iceland since her first visit thirty years ago. Many of her works are inspired by the country’s nature, culture, and society.

Admission with museum ticket. Free for Annual pass- and Culture Card holders, free for visitors under 18.
