Artist Talk | Hrafn­kell Sigurðsson

Hrafnkell Sigurðsson is the tenth artist selected to participate in the Reykjavík Art Museum's exhibition series at Kjarvalsstaðir, which traces the careers of key figures in Icelandic art.

The exhibition provides an overview of more than three decades of the artist’s career while also presenting new and previously unseen works.

Hrafnkell’s works often explore contrasts between order and disorder, culture and nature. His practice examines how human-made systems contend with natural decay, revealing the beauty in things we often overlook, such as waste, worn surfaces, and other ephemeral aspects of everyday life.

Museum admission applies. Free entry for holders of the Reykjavík Art Museum Annual Pass and Reykjavík Culture Pass, and for visitors under 18 years of age.
