This exhibit of Erró’s work focusses on his use of heroes from the world of comic strip. Erró (b. 1932) bases his artwork on quotations from other artists’ pictures, which he collages and conveys to canvas.
The works featured here incorporate the visual language of superrealism and comic strip into a complex, sensational narrative. All the works are from the Reykjavik Art Museum’s Erró collection, the artist’s invaluable donation to art in the city of Reykjavik. Curated by Ólöf K. Sigurðardóttir..
