Eyjólfsson‘s exhibition in the D-Gallery is based on a collection of words, texts and fragments og sentences that he has built and archived in recent years. He has a special interest in what comes up from day to day in communication between people or what pops up in your mind without any special meaning. This is the vernacular of the in-between, contemplation or mere filling of gaps.
Eyjólfsson displays his manuscript handwritten and burned into numerous clay plates mounted all over the exhibition walls. Leifur Ýmir Eyjólfsson is born in Iceland 1987. He studied at the Reykjavik School of Visual Arts, Ceramics, Molding and Fine Art Foundation, in 2008-2009. He graduated from the Iceland Academy of the Arts with a BA in Fine Art in 2013. Reykjavik Art Museum‘s D-Gallery exhibition series started in 2007.
