The Mermaid, 1922
Ásmundur Sveinsson created this sculpture under the guidance of Swedish sculptor Carl Milles (1875-1955) in Stockholm, Sweden. The sculpture was intended to be installed in a pool or a fountain but that didn’t happen.&nbsp;The Mermaid&nbsp;holds a couple of fish and is carried on a wave. The rippling wave reflects the movement&nbsp;of her body.
