Imagine Peace Tower

The Imagine Peace Tower in Viðey is a work of art by Yoko Ono that she dedicated to her husband, the musician John Lennon. The Imagine Peace Tower is lit on his birthday, October 9, every year and turned off on the day he died, December 8.

Instead of turning off the pillars in the beginning of new year, as usual, the Imagine Peace Tower will illuminate the sky until 27 March 2021 to celebrate John & Yoko’s wedding (20) and honeymoon and in light of world conditions,
