Hafnarhús
-
Installations and happenings by 11 young, Icelandic artists who are all born after 1968. The exhibition presents a new exhibition policy of Hafnarhus which aims to introduce the latest trends and waves in visual arts.
The name of the exhibition refers to an underground rave-party group in the underground dance culture that took roots in Iceland in the 1990s. As the artists who curate the exhibition put it in a statement, "The “aim” of the exhibition is to overtake the Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús for a specific period of time as this generation is used to do and show works that, in many ways do not conform and submit to their environment.".
