A four-day visual arts course is offered at Kjarvalsstadir for children aged 10–12. During the course, participants will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of materials and techniques in creative work, in the beautiful surroundings of the museum.

The emphasis is on two-dimensional visual art, with participants working, among other things, with drawing, printmaking, and painting. The children will have the opportunity to create artworks inside the museum’s exhibition galleries and draw inspiration from the artworks on display, under the guidance of a professional artist.

In good weather, part of the course will take place outdoors, using Klambratún park and the area surrounding the museum for games and creative projects. The course will be taught in small groups to ensure that each participant has the space to develop their own ideas and work freely on their artistic expression.

Teaching takes place from 9:00–12:00. Children are welcomed from 8:30.

The course instructor is Hlökk Þrastardóttir.

Two courses are available:

22 June – 25 June, 9:00–12:00
29 June – 2 July, 9:00–12:00

Registration will take place via Abler.
