Burning a candle in the window used to mean: I welcome you, stranger. Does it still work like that?

An interactive theater performance* inspired by the curtainless windows burning with fairy lights and candle sticks. And how they can evoke warmth and a feeling of outsiderness.

Burning a candle in the window used to mean: I welcome you, stranger. Does it still work like that? Elisabeth Nienhuis has been knocking on many doors in Reykjavík to find out.

Fueled by the stories of participants from the Open House (Rauði Krossinn), tourists, locals, and friends, Pour Light is a quest for Icelandic hospitality.

Performance: Elisabeth Nienhuis and Phiny van Roekel Text & Voices: Participants of the Open House (Rauði Krossinn) Videography: Patrik Ontkovic
