Sunna Ástþórsdóttir and Pari Stave guide guests through Steina: Playback on the last day of the exhibition.

Sunna Ástþórsdóttir from the Reykjavík Art Museum and Pari Stave from the National Gallery of Iceland will give a guided tour of the exhibition Steina: Playback. The tour begins at the National Gallery of Iceland on Fríkirkjuvegur and ends at the Reykjavík Art Museum in Hafnarhús.

The exhibition is a collaboration between The National Gallery of Iceland and the Reykjavík Art Museum presenting the works of visual artist Steina Vasulka. It opened simultaneously in both museums, Iceland's two main art museums. Steina is internationally recognised as a leading pioneer in video and new media art and is a major influence on contemporary art in Iceland. Her work uniquely connects video art, music, and technology in ways that are both highly inventive and playful. The exhibition is the first major retrospective of Steina's work in Iceland. It spans the entire scope of her artistic career, tracing the development of Steina’s ideas and technological innovations over several decades from early experiments in documentary video work to her most recent installations from the early 2000s.

Please note that the guided tour will be both in The Reykjavík Art Museum in Hafnarhús and in The National Gallery on Fríkirkjuvegur. The tour will take place across both museums starting from The National Gallery.

Admission with museum ticket. Free for Annual pass- and Culture Card holders, free for visitors under 18.
