How can we bring our streets and urban spaces to life? How much of the street space is dedicated to parking, and who pays for it? How can we ensure efficient transportation in vibrant and dense communities?

Urban planning is a matter of public interest, public health, and the environment. Urban planning, at its core, is about creating quality of life.

At Design March 2024, people of all ages will be able to take part in interactive workshops to experiment with and gain a better understanding of urban planning. The workshops are designed for all age groups, and children are especially welcome.

The National Planning Agency (Skipulagsstofnun) and the Association of Municipalities in the Capital Region (SSH) will discuss urban planning issues at Hafnarhús during Design March. Earlier this year, the publication "Urban Life, Built Environment, and City Space" was released, focusing on urban planning with people at the forefront, efficient transportation, and quality of life in residences and their surroundings. The goal is to expand on enrich these guidelines and introduce them in an interactive manner where guests of all ages can participate.

Guidelines for Sustainable Urban Living will be at the forefront at Hafnarhús during Design March, from April 24th to 28th, 2024.
