ÞYKJÓ design collective invites guests into their playful pop-up space in Reykjavik Art Museum, Hafnarhús, where they introduce their project „Children and City Planning“ which was awarded The Icelandic Design Awards 2024.
Who decides how our houses are arranged and where? Who makes the choice of drawing our streets with straight rulers or making them meander organically? Are the streets serving pedestrians and cyclists or cars? How are the spaces between our houses, can you stumble upon something fun on street corners? Where and how are the playgrounds? Has someone asked kids what they think?
