Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum has been nominated to the 2016 Icelandic Museum Awards

The awards are given every other year and the purpose is to draw attention to what is done well in local museums.

Since the museum was founded in 1983, it has been the goal to keep the works of Ásmundur in conversation with art history and contemporary art. In the jury´s review that has been well done at Ásmundarsafn where his works are constantly on view alongside new works by contemporary artists.
