Vitamin D

With this exhibition, the museum breaks the tradition of inviting up-and-coming artists to show in the museum's D-hall, but sets up a larger exhibition in more of Hafnarhús' exhibition halls.

This is done on the occasion of the fact that 50 artists have been presented in Hall D since 2007.

Vitamin D is an extra dose of creative energy that extends beyond the confines of Hall D and ensures the absorption of the latest artistic trends in a short time. The joint exhibition will be prepared by the museum's experts based on the submitted proposals.

Artists in the exhibition are selected from submitted applications, from an advertisement  published in May in 2023.

When selecting artists, the requirement is that they have not held a solo exhibition in a public art museum and have a connection to the Icelandic art scene through studies, exhibitions and/or residence in this country.
