Winter School Holiday: Video Art Course for 6–9 years old
Experience and games, participation and modern art
A video art course in the creative collection environment at Reykjavik Art Museum – Kjarvalsstaðir.

During the course, the artwork of the museum will be examined from the perspective of children and their experiences. Participants use Ipads to record their experiences and how colors of light and visual experience influence their imagination. We collect material, inspiration and ideas that we work with in different ways. The focus is on experience, creativity and imagination. The artwork and the arcitecture of the house is all at once, inspiration, material and experience.
The course is of for children 6–9 years old. There are two half-day courses at 9-12h00, Friday, February 28 and Monday, March 2.
The workshop is free of charge. Registration is required as the number of participants is limited. If the course is filled, children can be placed on a waiting list via email: fraedsludeild@reykavik.is

Björk Viggósdóttir (b. 1982) completed a B.A degree in visual arts in 2006 from the Academy of the Arts and studied Education in Education at the University of Iceland and a master's degree in Applied Cultural Communication at the University of Iceland. Björk works both as an artist and an art teacher. She has held numerous private exhibitions and participated in joint exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. Including the US, South America, Europe and Asia. Björk has had private exhibitions in Iceland at Gallery Þoku 2013, Reykjavik Art Museum, Hafnarhús D Hall 2011 and Hafnarborg 2013. Björk often does her work in many mediums, where the imagery is often interpreted so that the spectator is played with all the senses of the viewer. Björk has also worked in close collaboration with composers, musicians and performing artists in many of her exhibitions.
