Opening – D50 Klāvs Liepiņš & Renāte Feizaka: Doom Loop

Welcome to the opening of Doom Loop in D-Gallery on 26. October at 20h00.
This is the 50th exhibition in the D-Gallery exhibition series where artist Liepiņš & Renāte Feizaka exhibiton their video installaton Doom Loop.
Artist duo Klāvs Liepiņš (b. 1991) and Renāte Feizaka (b. 1987) approach identity, gender and self-validation within a socio-political context in their collective practice. In previous works they have realized the themes of autobiographical and inherited memory specific to the Post-Soviet generation, the influence of the church on self-perception, and the complexities embedded within individual identity and the working class and in political structures through video installation and sculpture. Klāvs holds a BA in Contemporary Dance from Iceland University of the Arts and Renate holds a BA in Fine Art from Iceland University of the Arts.
The D-Gallery exhibition series started in 2007 and invites emerging artists who are contributing to the development of the local contemporary art scene to hold their first solo exhibition in a public museum.
