Curator Talk with Becky Forsythe  through the exhibiton Kaleidoscope – International Collection in Hafnarhus on The Good Thursday 30. Mars at 20h00. In English.

Throughout the years, work donations have been made by artists and friends of the museum from around the world, while others have been specifically aqcuired for the museum collection. There are also several works by renowned international artists in the city's public spaces and thus owned and maintained by the museum.

Artists in the exhibition include Barbara Westman, Dale Chiluly, Ian Hamilton Finley, Roni Horn, Patrick Huse, Karin Sander, Bernd Koberling, Lawrence Weiner, Carolee Schneemann, Jean Jacques Lebel, Alicja Kwade, Yoko Ono and Kazumi Nakamura.

Free entrance with a museum ticket and for holders of Annual Pass/Culture Pass.

Book fair

The Reykjavík Art Book Fair will be open at Portið Hafnarhús on Good Thursday between 17h00 and 22h00.

The Reykjavík Art Book Fair brings together participants from the local creative scene as well as from abroad to show and sell their work, socialise and have a joyful time.

Reykjavík Art Book Fair will also be open Friday to Sunday from 12h00 to 17h00.

Entry to the book fair is free.

 

KJARVALSSTAÐIR

The exhibition Kaleidoscope – Icelandic Art in the 20th Century gives an insight into Icelandic art during the last century through the part of our cultural heritage that is preserved at Reykjavík Art Museum. The museum belongs to the city of Reykjavík, and there with its citizens.
