The Globe of Goodwill Award and Preview

The Benefit Society for Children with Disabilities invites you to the The Globe of Goodwill Award and Preview at Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhus, December 7th, at 11 am.
The 20th edition of the SLF’s Globe of Goodwill will be premiered at the same time as the The Globe of Goodwill Award will be awarded to someone whose work has challenged traditional values and views, inspired others to think differently and bettered the lives of fellow-citizens and society as a whole.
The Globe of Goodwill´s main mission is to enrich the lives of disabled children and youth in Iceland. All the proceeds from the sale go directly to SLF´s camp, Reykjadalur. The sale of the the Globe takes place December 8th-23rd in selected stores and at SLF´s online store at kaerleikskulan.is
Eva Þengilsdóttir, creator of the The Globe of Goodwill and director of ÖBÍ - The Icelandic Disability Alliance, will moderate the event and present the The Globe of Goodwill Award for 2022. The Bell Choir will set the ceremony with Christmas carols. Reykjavík Art Museum director, Ólöf K. Sigurðardóttir, will present this year´s artist and his design for the Globe of Goodwill. Reykjavik Art Museum has been a collaborator and advisor for SLF since the first edition of the Globe of Goodwill in 2003. Light refreshments after the ceremony.
The event will take place in the Reykjavík Art Museum - Hafnarhús, located at Tryggvagáta 17. Reykjavík Art Museum strives to ensure easy accessibility and make the event accessible to everyone. There are two parking spots reserved for people with disabilities in Grófin, to the left of Hafnarhúsið’s entrance. There are a few parking spots behind Hafnarhús on the Geirsgata side, accessible from Tryggvagata. Numerous parking places can be found in a parking garage at Vesturgötu 7 and Hafnartorg. Other parking garages within a walking distance are at Town Hall, Kolaport and Traðarkot. All these parking places requires payment.
