Garden: Artist Talk

Gallery talk with artist Anna Rún Tryggvadóttir and Edda Halldórsdóttir curator of the exhibition.
Anna Rún Tryggvadóttir is the 31st artist to show in the exhibition-series in Gallery D of the Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús. The series in Gallery D aims to give promising artists a chance to work within the walls of the museum and call attention to new and interesting voices in the art world. In 2017, a total of four exhibitions are planned in the series.
Anna Rún studied Fine Art at Iceland Academy of the Arts and at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada. Her recent projects include a solo exhibition at Hverfisgallerí (Matter in Motion, 2016), a group exhibition at Hafnarborg (Traces of Water, 2016) and an upcoming participation in Disko Arts Festival in Greenland this coming August (August 2-6, 2017). Anna Rún also works as a stage- and costume designer within theatres worldwide.
Water and its different manifestations are materials that Anna Rún often takes care of and she often leads water to the showroom. It also appears in her works that water is merged with other organic materials, so the transformation process becomes apparent to the audience, and the work is constantly changing in an unintentional scenario.
The talk will be held in Icelandic. Free with admission.
