Chamber ensambles – Youth Chamber Orchestra

The chamber ensembles of YCO, Youth Chamber Orchestra, Philadelphia in the USA will perform at Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús,  Wednesday, June 14 at 12:15 p.m.

The program includes works by Beethoven, Brahms, Grieg, Mendelsohn and Schubert. YCO consists of 20 elite students, ages 13-18, from the Music Prep's Center for Gifted Young Musicians. Featuring three string ensembles and smaller chamber ensembles, guided by members of The Philadelphia Orchestra and leading musicians in Philadelphia. Many former students of Music Prep are working musicians today, e.g. in The Philadelphia Orchestra. Aaron Picht has been the conductor of the orchestra since 2013.

YCO's concert is in collaboration with Sigursvein D. Kristinsson's Music School.
